What You Need To Know About Picking A Tennis Racket

What makes a tennis racket so suitable for tennis? Well, all the processes and materials. Those materials and also processes are vital key in producing good tennis rackets and good performance of a player. Not only that, the materials and the strings also affect the overall quality of the rackets.

For example, more and more rackets’ frames nowadays are made out of composite materials. Common mixtures of alloys in composite frames are silica, boron, kevlar, fiberglass and graphite. Graphite is the material that gives the frame its sturdiness and agility. Composite frame is lighter but it does not compromise the stability, control and the maneuver of player over the racket. Other than that, composite frames are also more durable and long-lasting.

The first thing that you should look at a tennis racket is the weight. In tennis, lighter rackets do not mean better control and better gaming experience. In fact, lighter rackets are suitable for children, older players and also for beginners. However, for professional tennis players, they will prefer heavier rackets to give them that extra stability and control.

Second aspect to bring in mind is the length of the tennis racket. The standard length for a tennis racket would be 27 inches. Longer racket gives players more reach and power since it can provide the player extra swing, especially when they serve. However, professional players tend to opt for the standard-length tennis rackets since they are easier to maneuver and controlled.

When you want to store your racket for a long time, decide on a good location. Too hot and too cold will make your racket becomes brittle and unusable, hence causing you to buy a new one. Why not keep your racket in room temperature and put some desiccant in the racket’s bag to absorb extra moisture in the air? The extra moisture is bad since too much of it will cause the uncoated surface of your racket to be exposed to rusting and corrosion.

Next, you cannot avoid from accidentally dropping your racket to the ground during a match. Usually, when this happened, you will hear a rattling sound. Do not be afraid. That sound actually means that some graphite inside the frame of your racket is lose or knocked out. To solve this irritating sound, remove the lid from the handle. Once you do that, shake your racket until the graphites falls off and put the lid back on before playing.

After a long use of the same racket over and over again, you will see that the grip starts to loosen bit by bit. This is due the handle grip’s glue’s resistance has come to its limit. Loose grip affects your play since you lose control and stability. To overcome this, replace your grip with new one. You can buy the grip from any sport shops. If you do not like to replace the grip, just cover the original grip with a new one.

Since you already have all these tips above, remember to refer to them first before going to any tennis shops. Buying the correct racket for yourself will not save your wallet and time, it will also gives you more confidence and spirit to win every game that you play. No more frustration and less angst should you lose any game.
